Inspired by the rugged rock face of a local beach, this piece is about the forces that shape us; as the elements shape the rock, so are we left with the imprints of things that happen to us in our lives. There is a beauty in the wearing down, where marks are left, stories are told. I really enjoy the contrast between the gnarled rock and the watery beach in the distance and as always, the concept of a threshold between these two planes.
