Inspired from a reference photo from Polly Joke beach on the north coast of Cornwall, I really liked the feeling of being enclosed or surrounded by the rocks, with a far away, washed out beach in the distance. I wanted a sense of separation from the land beyond the confines of the cliffs to speak to our own inner experience and create a feeling of being somewhat contained. There is an option for how this containment feels, depending on the viewer’s own disposition - safe or constricting?
